Professional Profile
Dr. Murray is a graduate of The Pankey Institute. He is passionate about dentistry and his enthusiasm is evident in his work. He has invested in thousands of hours of post-graduate study and continuing dental education to ensure that he provides the most up-to-date and advanced care to his patients.
A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Dr. Murray began practicing here in his hometown of Dubuque, Iowa in 1978 following a Dental Residency at the Iowa City Veterans Hospital. He is past president of both the Dubuque District and Dubuque County Dental Societies.Dr. Murray is accredited in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Commitment to Exceptional Care Through Continuing Education
Dr. Murray is committed to offering his patients the best that dentistry has to offer. To be able to provide the latest and most advanced dentistry he is constantly pursuing training on cutting edge techniques and dental materials.
He has earned Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) in 1983, and the prestigious AGD Mastership in 1995, and has been selected to be a clinical instructor at the world famous Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies where he helps teach dentists from around the world the latest in restorative and cosmetic techniques.
Dr Murray has completed the post graduate Esthetic program at University of Minnesota earning a certificate in Aesthetic and Contemporary Restorative Dentistry. He achieved Accredited status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), joining 266 dental professionals in the world who earned this prestigious designation.
Dr. Kristen Berning
Dr. Kristen (Murray) Berning grew up in Dubuque and was a most distinguished graduate of Wahlert High School in 1998. She then attended and graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minnesota) where she was on the varsity swim team for 4 years. She received her DDS degree from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006.
Dr. Berning lives in Dubuque with her husband Tim, and daughter Brielle. She is the oldest of Dr. Ted Murray’s three daughters, and began working with him in 2006. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, biking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
